The Company:
On behalf of our Client, a Financial Services Company, we are looking to recruit a Head of Legal for its offices in Nicosia. 

The Position:

The Head of Legal will provide and manage all the legal services for the Company, ensuring the appropriate legal coverage in all the actions carried out by the different units in the organisation and securing the knowledge, company contracts and the legal impacts it could have.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will report to the CEO of the Company. Main responsibilities include:

• Provide legal support and advice under the relevant Legislation and Regulations to the Company’s departments for matters affecting them or affecting the operations of the Company.
• Provide legal support to the Company for issues related to the governing bodies.
• Support the Company regarding the legal relationships with public and private institutions.
• Counsel and cooperate with the rest of the organisation to ensure compliance with legal provisions in all the activities carried out.
• Oversee creation, review and information of all contracts in different operations at the Company.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements by different legal, regulatory or judicial authorities.
• Evaluate the legal implications stemming from regulatory reforms and report the measures to adopt.
• Propose, if necessary, the hiring of law firms or external attorneys, and manage and coordinate such services.
• Propose amendments to the policies and procedures of the Company in order to comply with the relevant legislations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law
• Master’s degree in Corporate Law.
• Registered lawyer holding a license to practice in the Republic of Cyprus
• At least ten (10) years of proven work experience in similar duties.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
• Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English language both verbal and written
• Analytical, Communication and Negotiation skills

The position is for the Company’s offices in Nicosia, Cyprus
