Job Overview

The Client: 

On behalf of our Client, a Banking Institution in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a professional for the position of Market, Counterparty and Liquidity Risk Officer.

 

The Position: 

The Market Risk Officer will be responsible for the measurement, monitoring and management of significant market, counterparty and liquidity risks inherent in the Bank’s activities by using appropriate systems/methods for risk measurement and monitoring.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Gathering of data from various sources and ensuring data quality for performing day to day oversight and reporting on market risk related matters (FX, liquidity, Counterparty exposure, limits utilization and other metrics).
  • Preparation of regulatory reports (LCR, NSFR, IRRBB etc).
  • Preparation of any reports that may be required and involvement in ad hoc projects assigned by the regulatory authorities or other stakeholders.
  • Assessment of market risk aspects of new investments and products, working in close co-operation with front line etc.
  • Assisting in the development of methodologies to identify and measure market and liquidity risk.

 

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Banking/ Mathematics/ Statistics or similar.
  • Master’s degree in Financial Risk Management / Mathematical Finance/ Financial Mathematics / Financial Engineering or similar would be an advantage.
  • Professional qualification in risk management or finance (e.g. FRM, PRM, CFA) will be considered an advantage.
  • Maximum 3 years recent experience in a bank’s or investment firm’s Risk Management or Treasury Function.
  • Proficiency in various technology tools/systems such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Knowledge of Matlab/VBA or other programming languages will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong quantitative and data analytical skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good personality with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Greek.

 

Location:

The position is for the Client’s offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.
