Job Overview
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Group of Companies with diverse business interests, including Private Equity, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their expanding team based in Larnaca. The successful applicant will be responsible for the entire financial operation in the company (including its subsidiaries). The Financial Controller will be responsible for handling projects including, financial modelling, planning, monitoring, and reporting the company’s financial performance and managing its cash flow. You will be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CPA) and hold previous, demonstrable experience in a similar senior-level finance position.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishing work procedures and processes.
- Reporting of the company’s finances.
- Bookkeeping of Company & related entities.
- Working with the authorities and financial institutions (banks, insurance, etc.).
- Working with relevant entities in a company/subsidiaries or related/external consultants in the field.
- Payroll responsibility.
- Responsible for the company’s Head office financial operations, budget build up as per the company’s work plans and budget control for its actual execution.
- Financial data, including financial statements, analysis and report out.
- Analysis of the financial structure of the company’s activities and a recommendation on ways to improve it.
- Participation in due diligence processes and business plans for the company’s projects and activities.
- Building relevant monitoring & control tools suitable for the company’s line of business and management needs.
- Cash flow management for the company to ensure ongoing smooth operations.
- Managing the company’s cash balances in order to optimize returns while minimizing risks.
- Managing and control of the Company’s credit lines / bank guarantees.
- Continuous creation of optimal financing alternatives for the company.
- Company risk review and control: credit risks, insurance events, anti-embezzlement, currency exchange rates, contract surveys and liabilities.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Experience of a successful term as Financial Controller of a company operating in the international market, or as a Senior Accountant in a similar company.
- Qualified Accountant by training (ACCA/ACA/CPA etc…)
- Experience in responsibility for subsidiaries (preferably abroad) at the level of reporting, control, permissions, etc…
- Experience in assets/mergers and acquisitions will be highly beneficial.
- Project finance experience – Advantage
- Experience in International Taxation – Advantage.
- Experience managing financial teams and bookkeeping.
- Relevant experience and knowledge of the responsibilities listed above.
- The role requires travel to subsidiaries/related companies abroad once or twice per quarter.
