We are looking for an experienced Business Continuity Officer with in-depth knowledge of creating and maintaining plans to respond, recover, resume and restore to a pre-defined level of operations, following disruptive events and help minimize the impact of such events when they occur.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain Business Continuity Management Policy documents.
- Work closely with Business Units (BU) to understand their processes, identify risks, and coordinate actions needed to mitigate risks pertaining to business continuity threats and vulnerabilities, i.e. IT systems, human error, power, access, supply chain, SPoF, backups, redundancy, etc.
- Conduct a risk assessment with BUs to identify potential business continuity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct Business Impact Analysis in collaboration with BUs.
- Provides “hands-on” support to business units in the development and maintenance of the BU recovery plans and BC related documents, leveraging existing efforts and best practices.
- Liaise with BU to simulate BCP & DRP testing and ensure their comprehensiveness and effectiveness.
- Measure, maintain, and update all business continuity processes and documents as technology and business evolve and change.
- Responsible to drive continual improvement with regards to the BCMS within the Company.
- Ensure all applicable legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to business continuity & the interest of the relevant interested parties shall be met during establishing, implementing and maintaining the BCMS.
- Assist in the overall management and implementation of business continuity initiatives.
- Develop training materials and provide:
- BCM awareness to employees and their BCM responsibilities.
- General BCM awareness to staff members that may not be directly involved in BCM but need to know their role in times of a disaster.
- Provide data-driven analysis to assist management in decision-making to address deviations against established processes and standards.
- Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts as soon as a disruption event occurs keeping relevant documentation and report updates to management.
- Prepare and issue status reports on projects and initiatives assigned and prepare management reports as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecom engineering, disaster or crisis management, or a related field. CBCI will be considered as an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a BCM including program management, business impact analysis, planning techniques for business recovery, mitigation and crisis management.
- Knowledge of Business Continuity according to ISO 22301.
- In-depth understanding of business continuity management and frameworks, strong knowledge of business continuity best practices, protocols and regulations, operational risk management, and in-depth knowledge and expertise of the different operations such as IT practices.
- Excellent collaboration and communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of IT disaster recovery planning and processes.
- Experience in disaster recovery processes.
- High degree of knowledge in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Highly driven and motivated individual, with strong personal presence, integrity and trust.
- Time management with the ability to prioritise.
- Positive and Can-do attitude.
- Driving license is required.
- Experience in telecommunications will be considered as an advantage.
